|HOW CAN BANKRUPTCY HELP YOU?
When facing significant financial problems, filing for bankruptcy can provide you several important benefits:
Stop Creditor Collections: Immediately upon filing bankruptcy, all creditors are required to stop all collections against you.
Eliminate Debt: Most or all of your debt can be eliminated.
Stop Foreclosure: Foreclosure proceedings will immediatley be stopped upon the filing of the bankruptcy. You can catch up with any past due mortgage payments and be considered current under a Chapter 13 reorganization bankruptcy. Or in Chapter 7, you can at least stop the foreclosure, and gain around 2 to 5 or more months to negotiate, short sale, do a loan modification, or take some other action. See the Chapter 13 tab for a list of the benefits of Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
Stop Garnishments and Lawsuits: Bankruptcy will immediately stop any garnishment or lawsuit. Upon filing the bankruptcy we will inform your employer or bank/credit union to stop the garnishment.
A Fresh Financial Start: Filing for bankruptcy is decisive step towards financial freedom. You can leave your debts and creditors behind you. You can truly have a fresh start!
Stronger Credit than before: In most circumstances, people who are looking at bankruptcy, have poor credit and will end up with better credit after filing bankruptcy. Your debt will be wiped off and you then become a better credit risk for lenders as lenders see that you have eliminated your debt. If a person is coming in with good credit, a bankruptcy will wipe their record clean so he/she can rebuild credit back up again. Either way, once your bankruptcy has been filed, you can start to immediately rebuild your credit.
